Job summary

Desert Springs Post Acute, soon to be Willow Springs Healthcare Center, is seeking an enthusiastic Activities Aide to join our team. This part-time role focuses on planning and implementing recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities to enhance residents’ well‑being.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent (CPR preferred) and a compassionate, team‑oriented approach. You will lead group activities, provide one‑on‑one engagement, and help create a welcoming

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or activities programming desirable.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group activities to promote resident engagement and enjoyment.
• Provide one-on-one activities for residents unable to participate in groups.
• Encourage resident participation and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment.
• Assist with games, crafts, music programs, events, celebrations, and outings.
• Adapt activities to residents' cognitive, emotional, and physical abilities.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and the interdisciplinary team.
• Create and distribute monthly activity calendars.
• Maintain activity areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
• Monitor and report safety concerns, equipment needs, or maintenance issues.
• Support the department in creating memorable experiences that enhance residents' quality of life.
