Job summary

Desert Springs Post Acute, soon to be Willow Springs Healthcare Center, is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Activities Aide to join our team. The role focuses on planning, organizing and implementing recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance residents' well-being and quality of life.

You will facilitate group and individual activities, support engagement, and collaborate with the care team to tailor programs to residents' needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Compassionate, dependable and resident-focused.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group and individual activities that promote engagement for residents.
• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who cannot participate in groups.
• Encourage participation and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment.
• Assist with games, crafts, music programs, special events, celebrations and outings.
• Adapt activities to residents' cognitive, emotional, and physical abilities.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team to support resident needs.
• Create and distribute monthly activity calendars; keep areas clean, safe and organized.
• Monitor and report safety concerns or equipment needs.
