Position Summary

The Activities Aide assists in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities designed to enhance residents' physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Essential Responsibilities

• Facilitate group and individual activities that promote resident engagement and enjoyment
• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who are unable to participate in group programs
• Encourage resident participation and help foster a welcoming, inclusive environment
• Assist with games, crafts, music programs, special events, celebrations, and community outings
• Adapt activities to meet residents' cognitive, emotional, and physical abilities
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to support resident needs
• Assist with the creation and distribution of monthly activity calendars
• Maintain activity areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner
• Monitor and report safety concerns, equipment needs, or maintenance issuesSupport the department in creating memorable experiences that enhance residents' quality of life

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred
• Prior experience as an Activities Aide or within recreation programming is highly desirable
• CPR certification preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and team members
• Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused approach to care
