Job summary

Avera Eureka Health Care Center in Eureka, SD seeks a PRN Activity Assistant to support residents by coordinating and participating in daily activities, transport to appointments, and social events. The role involves assisting in planning, scheduling, and documenting participation.

Qualifications

• Driver's License required and insurable under the organization's vehicle policy Upon Hire
• High School or GED Equivalent
• Less than 1 year Experience in geriatric or patient care

Responsibilities

• Assists in implementation of activity program and social functions that are age appropriate and individualized for resident population.
• Sets up activity materials and makes them available for all departments.
• Assists in scheduling and organizing activities.
• Records individual resident activity attendance and notes responses in a timely manner.
• Provides 1-1 interactions for residents with minimal participation and for those with special needs; prepares weekly assessments.
• Suggests topics for discussion and promotes resident participation and understanding.
• Participates in quality of care activities.
• Contacts and coordinates with volunteers for supplies, room prep, and equipment to ensure a safe, clean environment.
• Shares duties of transporting residents to and from clinic appointments, shopping, or community events.

Education

High School or GED Equivalent
