Job summary

Avera St Benedict Nursing Home is seeking a PRN activity assistant to support the planning, organizing, and implementation of resident activity programs. You will help deliver engaging activities, assist with scheduling and materials, and record resident participation and responses to ensure well-being and social engagement.

The role requires basic education, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work with seniors in a team-focused environment, adhering to safety standards and CMS

Qualifications

• Requires ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, and understand speech.
• Must have visual acuity adequate to perform duties.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; valid driver's license required.
• Able to work in a team environment and follow safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of activity programs and social functions tailored to residents.
• Set up activity materials and make them available across departments.
• Assist in scheduling and organizing activities.
• Record resident activity attendance and responses in a timely manner.
• Provide 1-1 interactions and prepare weekly assessments as needed.
• Suggest topics to encourage resident participation and understanding.
• Participate in quality of care activities.
• Coordinate with volunteers for supplies and transportation as needed.
• Transport residents to clinic appointments or community events when required.
