Job summary

Avera Health is seeking a Resident Assistant at Eureka Health Care Center to provide personal care aligned with each resident's care plan. The role involves helping with daily activities, meals, medications, and maintaining a sanitary environment, while respecting residents' belongings.

The position requires strong communication, teamwork, and a compassionate approach. Schedule is varied, with As Needed PRN shifts, and pay ranges from $17.50 to $21.50 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Assists the resident with all facets of daily living including meals, medications, housekeeping and laundry.
• Respects residents’ valuables and personal property, including clothing, dentures, glasses, hearing aids and prosthetic devices.
• Reports any changes observed in residents’ condition or behavior.
• Answers call lights, anticipates resident needs, and completes frequent rounding.
• Prepares residents’ rooms and belongings for admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Follows procedures for linen changes, soiled laundry, and cleaning of furniture, equipment, and utensils.
• Assists residents to activities or directs activities.
• Keeps work environment clean and tidy; replenishes supplies in each area as needed.
• Prepares dining room for meals, serves meals with attention to eye appeal, sanitation, and temperature.
