Job summary

Apploi is seeking an Activities Assistant in Fowler, CA to support the Activities Director in building a monthly, large-print activities calendar and posting it where residents and visitors can easily see it. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid CNA license/certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activities Director in creating a monthly large-print activities calendar.
• Post the calendar in a prominent location visible to residents and visitors.
• Ensure a copy of the monthly calendar is in each resident's room.
• Interview residents or family members to obtain activity preferences.
• Coordinate and arrange transport to activity locations within the facility.
• Conduct activities to promote residents' physical, social, and mental well‑being.
• Document attendance and chart progress notes with resident responses.
• Observe mood and involvement; report changes to the Activities Director.
• Involve residents and families in planning activities whenever possible.
• Assist with in-room activities for residents needing one‑on‑one visits.
• Coordinate offsite field trips and transportation needs as required.
• Collaborate with other departments to prevent interruptions of daily activities.
• Assist with Resident/Family Council meetings as indicated.
• Treat residents with dignity and respect; promote residents' rights.
• Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Follow safety and hygiene measures; protect residents and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of protected health information.
• Report noncompliance or confidentiality breaches to HR or compliance.
• Report abuse, neglect, or mistreatment to supervisor/administrator; assist investigations.
• Report occupational exposures according to policy.
• Participate in life safety drills and emergency plans.
• Report injuries promptly to a supervisor.
• Follow infection control policies and complete required training.
• Support quality assurance efforts in the activities department.
• Assist with equipment, supplies, and organized storage.
• Submit administrative forms/reports to the Activity Director as required.
• Refer residents/families to social services when indicated.
• Support budgeting efforts with the Administrator and care planning processes.
