Job summary

Broadwayhcc in California is seeking an Activity Assistant to help plan and implement resident activities in line with individual care plans and regulatory standards. You will engage residents with respectful, dignity-preserving activities and greet them with courtesy.

The role requires clear communication with residents, families, and staff, maintaining confidentiality and following infection control policies. A preference for skilled nursing experience and strong English skills is noted.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be able to follow directions.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, organizing and conducting activities for the facility.
  • Involving residents and family members in planning whenever possible.
  • Arranging transportation for field trips when necessary.
  • Ensuring all charted activity progress notes are descriptive and detailed.
  • Coordinating activities with other departments and working collaboratively with all staff.
  • Following Infection and Control policies and Safety and Sanitation procedures.
  • Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately.
  • Protecting each resident's file and data with confidentiality per HIPAA standards.
  • Abiding with all facility policies and procedures including not disclosing user ID codes and passwords.
