Job summary

Waldron Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an Activity Assistant/Aide to support planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident-centered programs in our long-term care setting. You will observe residents, document responses to activities, and help maintain a warm, welcoming atmosphere while coordinating with the care team to meet each resident's plan.

Strong English communication and patience are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement for progress notes.
• Maintain a warm, personal, and calm atmosphere throughout the facility.
• Prepare activity rooms/areas and coordinate equipment and supply needs.
• Assist in cleaning up activity areas after functions.
• Follow the care plan to provide daily activities for residents.
• Purchase department supplies, clothing and personal items for residents.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information and protect PHI.
