Job summary

Willow Springs Healthcare Center is seeking an Activities Aide to plan, organize, and implement recreational and therapeutic activities that enhance residents' well-being. The role requires creativity, compassion, flexibility, and a genuine passion for improving lives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
• Prior experience as an Activities Aide or within recreation programming is highly desirable.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group and individual activities that promote resident engagement and enjoyment.
• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who are unable to participate in group programs.
• Encourage resident participation and help foster a welcoming, inclusive environment.
• Assist with games, crafts, music programs, special events, celebrations, and community outings.
• Adapt activities to meet residents' cognitive, emotional, and physical abilities.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to support resident needs.
• Assist with the creation and distribution of monthly activity calendars.
• Maintain activity areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
• Monitor and report safety concerns, equipment needs, or maintenance issues.
• Support the department in creating memorable experiences that enhance residents' quality of life.
