Job summary

Prairie Heights Healthcare in Aberdeen, SD is hiring an Activities Assistant to support the Director of Activities by planning and directing quality activities that meet the recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs of residents.

The role requires completion of a training program, company orientation, health screening, TB test if required, a drug test within 90 days, and a high school diploma or equivalent; the position is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a training and competency evaluation program.
• Completion of orientation required by company policy.
• Health screening and TB test (if required) within two weeks of employment.
• Mandatory drug test within 90 days of hire.
• Must be free of criminal activity proven by a criminal background check.
• Show within three (3) days of hire satisfactory evidence of identity and eligibility for employment.
• Highschool Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct a program of activities which provides entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and expression and fulfills basic psychological, social, and spiritual needs for all residents.
• Assist in planning, organizing, developing, and directing quality activities.
• Support patients in their choice of activities, including facility-sponsored group and individual activities and independent activities.
