Job summary

Independence Realty Trust, Inc. is seeking a Resident Accounts Specialist to oversee the integrity of resident financial records across our Ohio portfolio.

You will collect rents, monitor delinquencies, deposit funds, and support month-end close activities in a fast-paced property management environment. The ideal candidate has 1–2+ years in property management, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Entrata.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years experience in property management.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong verbal and written communication; bilingual Spanish a plus.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Collect rents and control delinquencies
• Serve legal documents and process eviction proceedings
• Attend unlawful detainer and court hearings on behalf of ownership
• Deposit funds, including bank deposits, daily
• Manage resident online payment enrollments
• Process and post all SODAs timely
• Assist Accounting with month-end discrepancies, reconciliations, and variances
• Manage resident payment plan options per company guidelines
• Maintain resident account ledgers, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Maintain knowledge of fair housing, harassment, disability accommodations, and landlord-tenant laws
• Perform additional duties as assigned
