Job summary

Essex Property Trust in Los Angeles is seeking a full-time role focused on resident accounting, collections, and coordination with multiple internal teams. The position requires attention to compliance, timely communication, and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities include handling move-in/move-out matters, balances, and eviction processes, with travel to occasional meetings. A driver’s license and a year of customer service experience are required, while a college degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of customer service experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with residents about move‑in, ledger balances, past move‑out balances, and eviction status.
• Resolve customer escalations in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain high levels of customer service for residents, vendors, teammates, and corporate departments.
• Ensure compliance with money management and accounts receivable policies and procedures.
• Manage the collection process, including notices and resident communications.
• Complete accounting responsibilities including revenue management and month‑end processing.
• Support legal proceedings for unpaid rent, including unlawful detainer and court appearances.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Legal and other Essex departments.
