Job summary

Missouri State University is hiring for Residence Life Student Facilities Assistants Team for Fall 2026 on the Springfield Campus. You will support custodial tasks and moving crew duties in student housing facilities, up to 20 hours per week.

The role requires reliable teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with a focus on timely cleaning and organization across residence spaces.

Qualifications

  • Good communication, public relations, and customer service skills.
  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
  • Detail-oriented, punctual, dependable, and able to work independently.
  • Able to read, write, and understand English sufficiently to follow instructions.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, push, pull, bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Prioritize time and tasks to complete projects on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Custodial: Clean buildings, furnishings, carpet and upholstery; dust, mop, vacuum, sweep.
  • Trash and recycling removal.
  • Use proper cleaning agents for assigned tasks.
  • Assist with cleaning outdoor areas such as loading docks and verandas.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
  • Moving Crew: Assist with delivery of supplies or equipment using hand trucks or carts.
  • Move, assemble and set-up furniture in student rooms, lounges, offices, and other areas.
  • Arrange and coordinate furniture placement to best utilize space in rooms and in storage.
  • Assist with inventory review and documentation.
  • Pack and store student belongings due to improper check-out or lost and found.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Description of Primary Duties
Custodial

Required Qualifications
