Job summary

San Diego State University seeks a Residence Hall Coordinator (RHC) to lead a dynamic on-campus living community for 350–800 students. This live-in role oversees a staff of Resident Advisors, coordinates housing operations, and enforces conduct standards to promote student success and well-being.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Residential Education, you will manage crises, participate in on-call rotations, collaborate with campus partners, and help build inclusive, development-focused

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Higher Education or related field preferred.
• Two years of professional experience in student services or related field.
• Experience as a student conduct officer.
• Crisis intervention experience and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a residential community by promoting student engagement, accountability, and inclusive community standards.
• Supervise, train, evaluate, and support a team of 8–22 Resident Advisors or Community Assistants, including recruitment and ongoing staff development.
• Oversee administrative and operational functions of a residence hall or apartment complex, including facilities coordination, security, desk operations, reporting, and housing processes.
• Serve as a Conduct Coordinator and University Judicial Officer, addressing behavioral concerns, adjudicating cases, and promoting student learning and responsibility.
• Participate in a 24-hour on-call duty rotation, responding to student crises and emergencies and coordinating with campus and community partners.
