Job summary

San Diego State University is seeking a Residence Hall Coordinator to lead a live-in residential community housing 350–800 students. You will supervise staff, oversee operations, and coordinate student conduct and crisis response on campus.

The role emphasizes leadership of a diverse team, collaboration with campus partners, and alignment with Student Affairs and Campus Diversity mission. On-campus furnished housing and meals are provided when dining services operate.

Qualifications

Master's degree strongly preferred with direct experience in residence life or student services.
Two years of professional experience in student services or related field; master's can substitute for one year.
Experience as a student conduct officer or crisis response experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a residential community for 350–800 students, promoting engagement, accountability, and inclusive standards.
Supervise and develop 8–22 Resident Advisors/Community Assistants, including recruitment and ongoing staff development.
Oversee residence hall operations, facilities coordination, security, desk operations, and housing processes.
Serve as Conduct Coordinator and University Judicial Officer, handling behavioral concerns and cases.
Participate in 24-hour on-call duty rotation for crises and emergencies.
