James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a Facilities Technician for Residence Life to manage residential facilities, supervise student staff, and coordinate with Facilities Management. The role ensures a safe, clean, well-maintained living environment for 6,700 residents across 33 buildings on a growing campus.

The position is full-time, classified, with a pay range of $45,000 to $47,000 per year and requires overseeing operations in collaboration with the Residence Life Admin

Qualifications

• Strong problem solving and scheduling organization skills.
• Experience with inventory management.
• Experience with inspections and accompanying documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership for Residence Life by managing all residential facilities and assessing needs and conditions.
• Performs regular, detailed inspections of all residential facilities.
• Supervises a team of student staff during the academic year and full-time wage employees during the summer.
• Has the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to accomplish goals and objectives.
• Knows, understands, and supports divisional values, and incorporates these values into daily interactions, decisions, and annual goals.
