Job summary

James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, is seeking Building Managers for the 2026-2027 academic year to support the Festival Conference and Student Center. You will oversee facility operations, assist guests, operate AV equipment, and help ensure a safe, welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Hours are 5–15 per week with evening and weekend shifts. Candidates should be dependable, customer-focused, and able to learn new technologies while representing the university

Qualifications

• Must be a degree-seeking student enrolled at least half-time (6 credits undergrad, 5 credits grad).
• Availability for evening and weekend shifts.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and demonstrate leadership and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned facility operations and serve as a frontline representative during evenings and weekends.
• Open, manage, and close the facility.
• Prepare, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment and event tech.
• Provide exceptional customer service to students, guests, staff and campus partners.
• Support events with room setups, logistics, and facility operations.
• Work independently and with student staff to achieve team goals.
