James Madison University’s Facilities Management is seeking a Landscape Lead Worker for a full-time, classified role. Shift is Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., with overtime for special events and weather, and a slightly alternate summer schedule. Pay range is $36,000–$39,000.

The role leads landscaping tasks, operates tractors and mowing equipment, and applies pesticides per directions to maintain attractive campus grounds. Background check and MVR are required.

Qualifications

• General landscaping practices knowledge.
• Knowledge of turf maintenance and installation.
• Ability to lead a small group and operate equipment.
• Physically demanding work in varied conditions.
• Must be at least 19 years old and have a valid driver's license for 24 consecutive months.

Responsabilités

• Leads the work of others on landscaping tasks (weed eating, grading, sign/post installation, mowing, snow removal, athletic field maintenance).
• Schedules work and performs landscaping maintenance to keep campus attractive.
• Operates heavy equipment safely (mowers, dump trucks, mowing equipment).
• Uses pesticides safely as directed, including storage and disposal.
• Employee is designated as essential to university operations and may work during closings.
