Job summary

James Madison University is seeking a Facilities Technician for Residence Life to help manage 6,700 residential students and 33 buildings. The role reports to the Assistant Director of Business Operations and focuses on safe, clean, well-maintained housing environments.

You’ll supervise student staff and wage employees, coordinate with vendors and Facilities Management, and participate on committees while pursuing professional development.

Qualifications

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem solving and scheduling organization.
• Experience with inventory management.
• Experience with inspections and accompanying documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of student staff and wage employees.
• Perform regular inspections of residential facilities.
• Maintain furniture inventory across residence halls and warehouse.
• Coordinate with external contractors and JMU Facilities Management.
• Serve on committees and engage with residents to address needs.
