Job summary

HIAS Inc. seeks a Program Officer, Initial Resettlement to lead research and analysis of federal, state, and local benefits and resources that help refugees achieve self-sufficiency under the PIR program.

You will coordinate with HIAS Virtual PIR, affiliates, state coordinators, and other stakeholders to assess needs and develop practical solutions. The role focuses on guidance, resource tools, and technical assistance related to public benefits, education, healthcare, English-language

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word and MS 365 proficiency.
• Experience researching and communicating complex policies.
• Knowledge of U.S. Refugee Admissions Program and ORR programs.

Responsibilities

• Assess affiliate needs and develop responsive support plans.
• Lead development of resource and referral tools for services.
• Monitor public benefits changes and guide affiliates.
• Research enrollment processes for PIR services and translate findings.
• Deliver guidance and technical assistance on accessing benefits.
