Job summary

LSI seeks a Resettlement Caseworker in Waterloo to support newly arrived refugees through their resettlement. You will assist with housing, employment, and enrollment and accompany clients to appointments, ensuring timely service delivery.

Responsibilities include coordinating resources with volunteers, conducting assessments, and documenting case files in a client-centered, trauma-informed framework. A valid driver’s license and mileage reimbursement are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health and human services or related field with relevant experience.
• Equivalents accepted: associates degree + 3 years or high school diploma + 5 years in related fields.
• Experience in human services, refugee support, workforce development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in obtaining services including housing, airport arrivals, employment, school enrollment and other resources.
• Transport and accompany clients to appointments.
• Coordinate service activities with volunteers and community resources to meet timeframes.
• Conduct assessments and establish goals with trauma-informed, client-centered plans.
• Maintain written documentation of services and complete case files.
