Job summary

Fervo Energy seeks a Reservoir Engineer focused on reservoir modeling and history matching to calibrate subsurface models against field performance. You will quantify fracture growth, production, and pressure response, while guiding diagnostic testing and data acquisition to improve match quality.

You’ll work with Completions, D&C, Reservoir, and Data Science teams to align stimulation design with data and simulation workflows, ensuring models stay predictive as the asset base grows.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering with relevant petroleum/mechanical/chemical focus.
• 5+ years in reservoir engineering, simulation, or fracture modeling.
• Hands-on with reservoir/fracture simulation software (ResFrac/CMG/Eclipse).
• Experience history matching production, pressure, or fracture data against models.
• Strong understanding of fluid flow in fractured media and fracture mechanics.
• Experience interpreting DFITs, PLT/DTS/DAS, tracer data.

Responsibilities

• Build, calibrate and maintain reservoir/fracture models.
• History-match production/injection rates and pressures.
• Iterate model parameters to improve match quality.
• Diagnose root causes of history-match mismatch.
• Inform production forecasts and injection/production strategy.
• Design diagnostic and surveillance testing to improve calibration.
