Reservoir Engineer

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Job Overview

We are are seeking a Reservoir Engineer to support Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) and Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) initiatives, based out of its Spring, Texas campus with remote work available. This is a one-year assignment focused on reservoir performance management, technical evaluation, and optimization of hydrocarbon recovery and CO₂ storage assets. The role centers on analytical reservoir engineering, dynamic simulation modeling, and forecasting to guide field development and investment decisions. It requires close partnership with geology, drilling, production, facilities, and commercial teams to maximize reservoir value and support long-term asset development strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Manage reservoir performance and lead technical evaluations of EOR assets to maximize hydrocarbon recovery, CO₂ storage capacity, and overall project value.
  • Perform analytical reservoir engineering studies, including material balance analysis, decline curve analysis (DCA), pressure transient analysis (PTA), and production performance evaluations.
  • Develop, calibrate, and maintain dynamic reservoir simulation models to support forecasting and strategic decision-making.
  • Evaluate injection and production patterns to optimize reservoir sweep efficiency and improve field performance.
  • Generate reservoir and economic forecasts to support asset management, development planning, and investment decisions.
  • Assess field development opportunities and provide technical support for well interventions, production enhancement, and conformance improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver technical recommendations to optimize production and injection strategies while balancing operational and economic objectives.
  • Partner with geology, drilling, production, facilities, and commercial teams to develop integrated reservoir management solutions.
  • Support storage containment assessments, abandonment evaluations, reserves estimation, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to annual reserves and volume certification processes, technical documentation, and audit support activities.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in reservoir engineering, including material balance analysis, decline curve analysis (DCA), and pressure transient analysis (PTA).
  • Hands-on experience supporting Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) assets and CO₂ storage or CCUS projects.
  • Proficiency in dynamic reservoir simulation and modeling to support forecasting and decision-making.
  • Experience evaluating injection and production patterns to optimize sweep efficiency and field performance.
  • Familiarity with reserves estimation, annual volume certification, and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience partnering across geology, drilling, production, facilities, and commercial teams.
