Job summary

Munich Re America Services (MRAS) is seeking a Corporate Reserving Actuarial Intern for Summer 2027, to work in Princeton, NJ or New York City, NY. The intern will collaborate with actuarial staff, learn reserving fundamentals, and contribute to analyses and presentations that influence management decisions.

The program emphasizes hands-on experience, mentorship from senior practitioners, and exposure to reinsurance concepts within a global insurer.

Qualifications

Open to all undergraduate and graduate students.
Preferred majors include Actuarial Science, Data Science/Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Risk Management, Statistics; other STEM majors also accepted.
Successful completion of one CAS/SOA exam is preferred.
Excellent communication skills—spoken and written, with formal/informal presentations.
Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Risk Management, or equivalent program in good standing.
Demonstrates leadership qualities—clear-thinking, curiosity, integrity and drive.

Responsibilities

Review segment analysis, technical checks of actuarial analyses, large loss research, loss development pattern selections.
Support the development of quarterly monitoring and presentations.
Work closely with an Actuary on a project including review segment analysis, technical checks, large loss research, etc.
Deliver an end-of-internship presentation to the department.
