Job summary

Munich Re America Services (MRAS) is seeking an Actuary to support Corporate Reserving for Global Specialty Insurance US. You will own reserve reviews, interpret IFRS17 impacts, and partner with GSI, Claims and Finance to drive data-driven insights and stronger balance-sheet strength.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in economics, mathematics, actuarial science or a similar quantitative field.
• Credentialed Actuary (CAS or comparable)
• Experience in non-life (re)insurance (reserving, pricing, underwriting, risk management, controlling)
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with practical application
• Experience with insurance-related databases and data warehouses preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for non-technical audiences
• Ability to combine actuarial expertise with business judgment and stakeholder management
• Strong project management, process optimization and change management skills

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with the GSI Business Unit and stakeholders to enable collaboration across a complex global organization
• Interface between Corporate Reserving and GSI Business Units, Claims, and Finance involved in the actuarial control cycle
• Enhance reserve analyses by understanding strategy, portfolio performance, and marketplace trends
• Own assigned reserve reviews and analyses, including actual vs. expected comparisons and documentation
• Translate reserving results into actionable business insights affecting financial results
• Understand IFRS17 concepts and their relevance to reserving analyses
• Identify opportunities to improve reserving processes, reporting, automation and data-driven analytics
• Collaborate in a diverse team to maximize deliverables and Munich Re Group success
