The Mutual Group is seeking an Associate Actuarial Analyst, Reserving in Des Moines to support Property & Casualty reserve analyses across lines of business. You will work under actuaries, evaluate reserves and support financial reporting while developing technical actuarial skills and professional expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Finance or related field.
• Successful completion of at least one actuarial exam is required; 2 to 4 exams preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to pursuing ACAS credential.
• Prior internship in insurance, actuarial, finance or analytics preferred.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with R/SQL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing reserve analyses and indications using established actuarial methods under supervision.
• Support development of reserve analyses and documentation per actuarial standards.
• Maintain reserving models, methodologies and supporting documentation.
• Analyze data used in reserving analyses and validate results.
• Communicate findings through reports, exhibits and presentations.
• Support financial close processes, reserve analyses, audits and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate across Finance, Claims, Underwriting and Analytics.
