Job summary

The Mutual Group is seeking an Associate Actuarial Analyst, Reserving to join its Actuarial team in Iowa. The role involves supporting quarterly reserve analyses, maintaining reserving models, and collaborating with Finance and Claims to ensure accurate reporting and governance. Strong quantitative skills and Excel/R/SQL proficiency are desired.

Hybrid/remote options are available; candidates in the US with actuarial exam progress are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science, finance or related field.
• Successful completion of at least one actuarial exam; 2-4 exams preferred.
• ACAS credential pursuit; strong dependency on actuarial judgment.
• Proficiency with Excel; R/SQL or similar querying languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform quarterly L&LAE reserve analyses across Property & Casualty lines.
• Support reserve analyses, indicators, and documentation under supervision.
• Maintain reserving models, methodologies, and data controls.
• Extract, reconcile & analyze data used in reserving analyses.
• Collaborate with Finance for financial close, audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Communicate findings via reports, exhibits, and presentations.
