Job Summary

The Reservation Agent is responsible for handling the day‑to‑day reservation operations in a professional, efficient, and friendly manner. The role ensures that all reservation lines are attended and that hotel rates and information are communicated accurately and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Create bespoke experiences for guests.
• Ensure all reservation activity is attended and accurate.
• Communicate daily business demand with departmental teams.
• Properly access all functions of the reservations system.
• Answer inquiries and accept reservations over the phone.
• Maximize revenue through suggestive selling and up‑selling techniques.
• Demonstrate advantages and create value for guests.
• Ensure reservations (including manual) are input accurately, completely, and promptly.
• Assist customers and other departments to provide optimal service.
• Coordinate reservation, sales, and rate strategy across departments.
• Support teammates to achieve departmental and hotel goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Assist one‑stop reservation service (restaurant, spa, etc.).
• Assist in pre‑arrival process for guests (email/phone).
• Assist in answering PBX calls into the hotel.

Skills and Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior luxury hospitality experience preferred.
• Ability to multitask between different computer systems.
• Strong computer skills.
• Excellent selling skills and understanding of sales processes.
• Strong customer development and relationship management skills.
• Ability to influence others to upsell products and services with negotiation skills.
• Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing); confident telephone etiquette.
• Accurate input and access of data into hospitality software.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow up timely.
• Team‑work across departments.
• Ability to work a varied schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
