Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin seeks a Research Technologist III to manage laboratory operations and support ongoing projects in Dr. Yang Xiao's Physiology lab.

The role blends wet-lab mammalian cell culture with dry-lab data analysis and requires strong organization and independent work. Key duties include daily lab operations, inventory, equipment maintenance, documentation, training new staff, performing cell culture, and conducting bioinformatics analyses using Linux, R and Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred where indicated.
• Three years of relevant research or laboratory experience.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to perform dry-lab data analysis with bioinformatics tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily laboratory operations, including ordering supplies and maintaining inventory.
• Maintain laboratory documentation, protocols, notebooks, data files, and logs.
• Train and provide technical guidance to new laboratory members in safety and techniques.
• Perform mammalian cell culture work.
• Perform bioinformatics analysis.
• Participate in regular lab meetings to discuss progress and troubleshoot.
