Position Overview

The Biomarker Core of Boston University Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (BU ADRC) at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) is seeking a full-time Research Technician 2. The role requires laboratory experience, coordination of research samples, data entry, and organization. The project involves a multidisciplinary study following a large cohort to investigate the etiologies and risk factors of Alzheimer’s disease. The successful candidate will join a talented team dedicated to this mission.

Responsibilities
  1. Process fluid samples such as blood and cerebrospinal fluid.
  2. Extract exosomes, conduct ELISA and immunoassays, and perform cell assays.
  3. Coordinate assays for DNA, RNA, and protein characterizations related to Alzheimer’s Disease.
  4. Handle Alzheimer’s mouse models and characterize brain tissues using immunostaining and molecular techniques.
  5. Manage data entry and organization, respond to sample requests from faculty and collaborators.
  6. Train students, postdocs, faculty, and the National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center in research techniques.
  7. Test and adapt new techniques as needed for research.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of experience required; Master’s degree preferred.
