Research Technician – Necropsy & Histology

Join us to apply for the Research Technician – Necropsy & Histology role at Synectics Inc.

Job Overview

The AIP technician is responsible for performing accurate, high-quality necropsy and histology studies for rodent and non-rodent safety assessments. This work must comply with study protocols, SOPs, GLP regulations, EHS standards, animal welfare regulations, and departmental policies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform all aspects of necropsy and histology phases in safety studies, including setup, necropsy, tissue processing, slide preparation, staining, data collection, and archiving.
2. Ensure availability of supplies and equipment; generate necessary forms and labels.
3. Review data for accuracy, correct errors, and document findings.
4. Troubleshoot technical issues related to necropsy and histology.
5. Communicate effectively with management and study personnel to ensure compliance and animal welfare.
6. Work as part of a team, maintaining professionalism and positive interactions.
7. Perform ex vivo work requiring PPE use.

Qualifications

• Minimum: ≥ 4 years applicable histology experience; or Associates degree in Biological Sciences with HT (ASCP) and 2 years relevant experience; or B.S. in Biological Sciences with 1 year relevant experience.
• Preferred: >7 years relevant histology experience, or Associates degree with >3 years necropsy/histology experience, HT (ASCP) certification preferred.
• Training in laboratory techniques across multiple species in a GLP environment.
• Experience with electronic data systems.
• Physical ability to perform technical procedures.
