Our client, a world-leading Pharmaceutical Company in Groton, CT, is currently looking for a Histologic Technician to join their expanding team.

Duration and Location

Duration: 12 months contract, extendable up to 36 months

Location: Groton, CT

Note

The client has the right-to-hire you as a permanent employee at any time during or after the contract.

Job Description

The Histologic Technician in Anatomic & Investigative Pathology (AIP) is responsible for performing accurate necropsy and histology studies for safety assessments in compliance with SOPs, GLP, EHS standards, and animal welfare regulations. The role supports candidate selection, early research, and safety evaluations.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform all regulatory responsibilities in compliance with applicable standards.
  2. Understand and follow study protocols and related procedures.
  3. Conduct necropsy, tissue processing, slide preparation, staining, data collection, and documentation.
  4. Ensure availability of supplies and equipment; generate necessary forms and labels.
  5. Review data for accuracy; correct errors and notify relevant personnel.
  6. Troubleshoot technical issues related to necropsy and histology.
  7. Communicate with management and study personnel to ensure compliance and animal welfare.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in Biological Sciences with 1+ years of histology experience OR
  • Associate's degree with HT (ASCP) and 2+ years of experience OR
  • 4+ years of applicable histology experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant necropsy/histology experience with HT certification preferred.
  • 7+ years of histology experience is highly desirable.
Location/Shift

Onsite in Groton, CT. Monday - Friday, First Shift.
