HHMI’s Casanova Lab in Dallas, TX, seeks a Research Technician II to support genetics-focused infectious disease research at UT Southwestern Medical Center. The role targets individuals early in their career with hands-on molecular biology experience and a strong interest in CRISPR-based genome editing.

On-the-job training is provided in a collaborative academic setting. You will work with senior lab members, perform wet lab experiments, and contribute to a culture of scientific rigor and open

Competenze

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a life sciences or engineering field with relevant research experience.
• Hands-on molecular biology experience including PCR and cloning.
• Experience with CRISPR-based genome editing tools is preferred.
• Experience with data analysis in R or Python is a plus.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced lab.

Mansioni

• Support senior lab members in day-to-day wet lab experiments focusing on infectious diseases genetics.
• Perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR and cloning.
• Apply CRISPR-based genome editing approaches as project needs require.
• Assist with library design, cloning for high-throughput screening, and NGS prep.
• Record and organize experimental data with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with cross-team members and participate in lab meetings.
