Job summary

The Casanova Lab at UT Southwestern Medical Center, part of HHMI, seeks a Research Technician II to support genetics research on infectious diseases. You will work with senior scientists, performing core molecular biology tasks and data collection in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in a relevant life science or engineering field with research experience.
  • Hands-on molecular biology experience, including PCR and cloning (required).
  • CRISPR-based genome editing experience preferred; coding skills a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior lab members in day-to-day wet lab experiments on infectious disease genetics.
  • Perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR and cloning as core components.
  • Apply CRISPR-based genome editing approaches as needed for projects.
  • Assist with library design/cloning for high-throughput screening and NGS prep.
  • Collect, record, and organize experimental data with precision.
  • Collaborate across lab project teams and participate in meetings.
