The University of Houston Digital Humanities Core (DHC) invites applications for a Research Technician 2. This role supports a range of digital technologies, including cloud hosting, web provisioning, and prototype equipment preparation, to assist UH students and projects.

Qualifications

• MQ: Associate's Degree with 6 months experience.
• Experience in IT applications, infrastructure, and development preferred to manage and support cloud and web hosting platforms.
• Experience with web hosting infrastructure and scripting languages related to digital humanities work.

Responsibilities

• Ensures experiments are preformed according to specification.
• May make practical technical recommendations to changes in procedures, equipment, or prototype design.
• Applies basic skill and develops advanced skills.
• Often assists with, and may perform, some advanced functions.
• Solves most routine problems while referring more complex questions to higher levels.
• Receives direct supervision but is expected to select from a variety of standard procedures to complete tasks.
