  • Accurately record experimental procedures, observations and results.

  • Maintain laboratory inventory of reagents, chemicals, cell lines, plasmids, and consumables.
  • Troubleshoot routine problems and refer complex issues to senior staff.
  • Suggest practical improvements to lab workflows when appropriate.
  • Learn and implement new techniques as needs evolve.

Job description

Department: Pharmacological &PharmaceuticSalary: $16.63 - $18.73

Description

Provides assistance and expertise in various areas of research such as calibration of instrumentation, equipment maintenance andrepair, preparation of samples for testing, monitoring of safetyequipment and procedures, development and fabrication of prototypeequipment, recording of test results, and basic analyses ofdata.

  • 2. May make practical technical recommendations to changes inprocedures, equipment, or prototype design.
  • 3. May perform simple and repetitive task.
  • 4. May assist in advanced functions as part of training.

Duties

The Research Technician may assist with orindependently perform selected advanced experiments afterappropriate training. The position is expected to troubleshootroutine problems and seek guidance for complex experimental ortechnical issues.

Supervision

Works under direct supervision whileindependently performing assigned tasks.

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant hands-on research experiencebeyond standard high school or undergraduate laboratorycoursework.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience with mammalian cell culture andsterile/aseptic technique.
  • Experience with at least two molecular or cellular biologytechniques, such as PCR/qPCR, Western blotting, immunofluorescence,transfection, protein assays, molecular cloning, or relatedmethods.

MQ: High School Diploma with 1 year of experience.
