Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Parikh lab in Dallas is seeking a Research Technician I to support aging-related vascular and metabolic research. You will genotype mouse colonies, breed cages, analyze data, and perform PCR, gel electrophoresis, and cell culture with strict sterile technique.

The role requires organization, proactive teamwork, and collaboration with clinical/postdoctoral fellows. Laboratory duties include preparation of papers and contributing to publications.

Qualifications

• Two years of college or specialized training in histology, medical technology or relevant field.
• 1 year of experience as Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent; or 3 years of lab experience with HS diploma/GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting experiments and research problems in physiology, bacteriology, tissue culture, chemistry, and related fields by performing basic procedures.
• Assemble and operate laboratory equipment and apparatus.
• Record data; communicate results with supervisor and modify procedures as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
