Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Research Technician I to support one or more clinical/postdoctoral fellows. You will perform genotyping of the lab's mouse colony, breed cages, and data analysis, and conduct PCR, Gel Electrophoresis, and cell culture with strict sterile technique.

The role involves collaboration with supervisors and other researchers, contributing to publications and presentations while maintaining thorough records and literature review for procedures.

Qualifications

• Completion of two years of college or specialized training in histology, medical technology or relevant field.
• 1 year of experience as Laboratory Technical Assistant or 3 years of lab experience with a High School diploma/GED.
• Hands-on experience with genotyping and basic molecular biology techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting experiments and research projects under supervision.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and apparatus.
• Record data and discuss results with supervisor to adjust procedures.
• Perform cell culture and other routine lab duties as assigned.
