Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related scientific field, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated basic laboratory skills
• 2 years of lab experience beyond coursework
• Hands-on experience with mouse husbandry and colony management, tumor inoculation, mouse injections, tissue processing
• Experience with mammalian cell culture, PCR/qPCR, molecular cloning, Western blotting, ELISA, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, DNA/RNA extraction, protein expression and purification

Responsibilities

• Perform experiments at the bench level to support investigative work
• Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents, stocks, cultures or cell lines
• Perform and modify documented protocols and assays
• Maintain laboratory records and compile data on experiments and assays
• Interpret and report on experimental results
• Perform statistical analysis of test results and prepare written reports
• Operate and carry out basic maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Order and maintain appropriate levels of supplies
• Identify methodological problems and optimize results
• Prepare and present progress reports concerning studies
• Assist in the design of experiments and manage research data base
• May perform data analyses or write computer programs
