Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC is seeking a Research Technician for the Ganesh Lab to support cutting-edge cancer research. You will contribute directly to identifying vulnerabilities in metastatic colorectal cancer and work closely with clinicians to advance translational studies.

As a Laboratory Technician, you will handle organoid generation, long-term culture, PCR, Western blot and ELISA, manage data, and collaborate with postdocs and researchers in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or life sciences (or related field) required.
• Experience with organoid generation and long-term culture.
• Experience with PCR, Western blot and/or ELISA.
• Comfort working directly with animal models.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory support: prepare and maintain equipment, supplies, stains, assays.
• Perform techniques and assays including organoid generation, long-term culture, PCR, Western blot and ELISA.
• Conduct animal studies including tissue collection to enable downstream analyses.
• Record and analyze data; prepare reports for the team.

Role Overview

• Laboratory Support: Prepare andmaintainlab equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays, and other essential supplies.


• Techniques & Assays: Perform specialized techniques, such asorganoidgeneration and long-termculture,cell-based assays, PCRs, WesternBlots, ELISA etc.


• Animal Handling: Conduct animal studies, including injections, tissue/fluids collection, and animal autopsies tofacilitatedownstreamanalyses.


• Data Management: Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team.


• Collaboration: Assistpeers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree inbiology,chemistryor lifesciences..
