Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma and two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, or closely related field; 4+ years research experience.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of microbiology, molecular biology, microbiomics, and/or analytical chemistry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate and interpret data.

Job Description

The Biodesign Center for Health through Microbiomes (HTM) is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and collaborative Research Technician to support the Center's research and operational activities. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator with strong organizational and multitasking skills who thrives in a team-oriented environment. This position offers flexibility and may accommodate part-time or flexible scheduling based on the candidate's expertise and the needs of the Center.

Position Salary Range

$21.20 - $26.49 per hour; DOE

Essential Duties
  • Provide technical and operational support for the Biodesign Center for Health through Microbiomes (HTM) under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI).
  • Support the day-to-day research activities of the Center, including assisting with laboratory operations, research projects, and other assigned activities.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to support the Center's research mission and contribute to a productive, team-oriented environment.
  • Maintain organized research records and assist with data collection and other research-related documentation as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Center's research and operational objectives.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, or a closely related field; or four years of research experience in a related area
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of microbiology, molecular biology, microbiomics, and/or analytical chemistry.
  • Knowledge of modern research methods, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate and interpret scientific data.
Working Environment
  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting and laboratory subject to extended periods of being in a stationary position, operating computer and other office productivity machinery; required to move a moderate distance to perform work.
  • Frequently moves up to 25 pounds for various needs.
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment before entering laboratories such as lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, closed toe shoes and respirator.
