Job Title: Research Support Technician
Contract Duration: 6+ Months
Work Type: Onsite
Location: Durham, NH
Job Duties:
- Support on-site, field-testing, and assay execution for applied science activities under the guidance of the Project lead, including test preparation, participation, and cleanup.
- Collect, organize, and report data: record, calculate, and maintain detailed experimental data following GLP or GCP standards.
- Utilize basic computer skills and applications: proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Adapt to fast-paced environments with multiple projects or tasks, demonstrating enthusiasm and flexibility.
- Work efficiently in both independent and team settings, sometimes in slower-paced environments requiring initiative and self-motivation.
Job Requirements:
- Experience with animal handling and/or animal models.
- Successful experience with veterinary procedures in a research setting.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills in complex applied science environments.
- High attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Endurance for long periods of sitting, standing, walking, or repetitive motions.
- Ability to travel within the state.
- Willingness to work non-standard hours, including early mornings, late nights, and overnight shifts.
Qualifications:
- Recent graduate or current student pursuing a BS in Poultry Science or Animal Science.
- Availability for 30-40 hours per week with a flexible schedule for students.
- Less than 2 years of relevant experience.
- Willing to work at field locations under supervision.
- Familiarity with biological or chemical laboratory procedures.
Additional Information:
- Potential to drive a company vehicle (~1/4 mile) for supply transport, though not a requirement.
