Job description

Job Title: Research Support Technician

Contract Duration: 6+ Months

Work Type: Onsite

Location: Durham, NH

Job Duties:
  1. Support on-site, field-testing, and assay execution for applied science activities under the guidance of the Project lead, including test preparation, participation, and cleanup.
  2. Collect, organize, and report data: record, calculate, and maintain detailed experimental data following GLP or GCP standards.
  3. Utilize basic computer skills and applications: proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  4. Adapt to fast-paced environments with multiple projects or tasks, demonstrating enthusiasm and flexibility.
  5. Work efficiently in both independent and team settings, sometimes in slower-paced environments requiring initiative and self-motivation.
Job Requirements:
  1. Experience with animal handling and/or animal models.
  2. Successful experience with veterinary procedures in a research setting.
  3. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills in complex applied science environments.
  4. High attention to detail.
  5. Effective communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
  6. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  7. Endurance for long periods of sitting, standing, walking, or repetitive motions.
  8. Ability to travel within the state.
  9. Willingness to work non-standard hours, including early mornings, late nights, and overnight shifts.
Qualifications:
  1. Recent graduate or current student pursuing a BS in Poultry Science or Animal Science.
  2. Availability for 30-40 hours per week with a flexible schedule for students.
  3. Less than 2 years of relevant experience.
  4. Willing to work at field locations under supervision.
  5. Familiarity with biological or chemical laboratory procedures.

  • Potential to drive a company vehicle (~1/4 mile) for supply transport, though not a requirement.
