A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Social Worker for the CHOICE project. The role involves assessing patients' needs, developing care plans, and providing intensive patient navigation to support optimal health post-discharge. Candidates should have a Master's in Social Work and relevant licensure. This position is contingent on grant funding and offers clinical supervision toward LICSW certification.
Position Summary
Medical Faculty Associates is recruiting for a Social Worker as part of the CHOICE (Continuum of Care in Hospitalized Patients with Opioid Use Disorder and Infectious Complications of Drug Use) project. This social worker will assess patients' needs, develop patient-centered plans, and work with patients to achieve their optimal health post-discharge from the hospital after admission for infectious complications from injecting opioids. The Social Worker will perform motivational interviewing, provide linkage and connection to wrap-around services in accordance with study protocols, offer intensive patient navigation, and follow principles of harm reduction. Clinical supervision is available for components of this work to meet clinical requirements towards achieving LICSW certification, if desired.
Note: This position is contingent on grant funding. The grant is slated to end on 07/26.

Education
Masters Degree in Social Work.
Licensure
Current LGSW, LISW, or LICSW license in the District of Columbia.
Experience
Experience in motivational interviewing is required. One to two years supporting clients with substance use disorders, especially opioid use disorder, is preferred. At least one year of research experience is preferred.
Competencies
Demonstrate knowledge and support of GWMFA’s mission, values, and principles. Follow study protocols and SOPs. Previous experience with community resource linkage, motivational interviewing, and harm reduction principles. Be proactive in self-education and navigating local resources. Exhibit excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. Be familiar with research technology/equipment. Show compassion, patience, integrity, flexibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and confidentiality.

Received from PGA/Department Manager and Senior Director of Clinical Research Operations. Collaborates with Physician Fellowship/Research Liaisons.
