Job summary

The Calibr-Skaggs Institute for Innovative Medicines, a division of The Scripps Research Institute, seeks a Research Scientist to design and synthesize novel compounds for drug discovery across diverse targets. You will support programs from hit assessment to IND-enabling studies, contributing to analytical characterization and formulation development for multiple administration routes.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field; PhD preferred, and 3+ years in industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, or related field required. PhD is highly preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years' experience in the industry required.
• Impeccable attention to detail, and ability to perform hands-on experiments and maintain documentation.
• Highly motivated, creative, and devoted to project goals.
• Team player who can work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues and management.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Calibr scientists on lab-scale synthesis, analytics and formulation development.
• Work cross-functionally to deliver quality compounds for preclinical programs.
• Apply crystallization, filtration and chromatography methods with analytical techniques.
• Prepare technical reports, publications and presentations as needed.
