Job summary

UTHealth Houston McGovern Medical School in Houston, TX is seeking a Research Nurse (Full-time) to support infectious diseases trials. The role includes coordinating care, recruiting and following participants, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with protocol implementation.

The position may require travel to LBJ Hospital and MHH for high-interest studies. You will join a multidisciplinary team, participate in research team meetings, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited program (required).
• One year of research experience preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, consent and educate participants about research objectives, benefits and risks.
• Coordinate nursing care within research protocols and supervise project staff.
• Schedule follow-up visits and maintain contact with participants and families.
• Distribute research information to investigators, staff and sponsors.
• Prepare regulatory submissions to IRB and other agencies; manage enrollment in clinical studies.
• Input data and maintain research databases and records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
