Job summary

Florida State University invites applications for the position of Associate Dean for Research in the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. The role leads operations of the Office of Research, directing grant development, analytics, and college-wide research amplification.

The Associate Dean will supervise ~15 faculty and staff, oversee budgeting and external funding, and liaise with college leadership to advance a robust research agenda and strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• Earned doctoral degree in a discipline related to one of the academic units in the College.
• Demonstrated success in research that would warrant tenure in a discipline within the College.
• Prior experience in academic leadership at the program, center, institute, department, or college level.
• Ability to analyze data and make data-informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Office of Research operations and staff performance.
• Identify and implement grant development activities and proposal tracking systems.
• Supervise administration of grants with high-quality customer service to faculty and staff.
• Develop innovative programs expanding research activities and impact.
• Track grant activity and publications using analytics tools like Academic Analytics.
• Maintain fiscal responsibility for OoR budget and external funds.
• Collaborate with PIs and editors in grant proposals and research projects.
• Coordinate research amplification and space usage across the OoR.
