The Office of the Dean in the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences at Florida State University invites applications for an Associate Dean for Academic Affairs position to start in July or August of 2027.
For external candidates, the faculty rank (tenure-track associate/full professor or specialized teaching faculty II/III) associated with the appointment will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
The Office of Academic Services and Intern Support (OASIS) is the representative office for the academic dean of the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. OASIS strives to provide students, staff, and faculty, with the tools and support needed for student success. OASIS serves as the central repository for all student records, monitors required academic milestones, provides academic advising and support for undergraduate students, collaborates with academic departments to provide academic support for graduate students, and serves as the primary liaison between current students and the Office of the Registrar, the Division of Undergraduate Studies, and The Graduate School. OASIS directly manages the undergraduate admission process and provides support to academic departments in the admission of graduate students. Additionally, OASIS works with educator preparation programs throughout the university to coordinate internship placements and field-based experiences with PK-12 schools and students.
The roots of FSU’s Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences date back to the university’s establishment, and it is the oldest college of its kind in Florida. The College is home to six academic departments united through a common goal to maximize human potential. In total, the College includes the Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Studies, Department of Educational Psychology & Learning Systems, Department of Human Development & Family Sciences, Department of Health, Nutrition & Food Sciences, Department of Sport Management, School of Teacher Education, numerous research centers, and three laboratory schools (Florida State University School, FSU Pembroke Pines Charter School, and The Collegiate School at FSU Panama City). Anne’s College serves over 4,000 students via approximately 200 full‑time faculty and nearly 80 full‑time staff.

The faculty rank associated with the appointment will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. A 9-month versus 12-month appointment will be dependent on the selected candidate's rank and program.
