The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC is seeking a Full-Time Manager, Research Laboratory to oversee day-to-day operations at the UHealth campus in Miami, FL. This role ensures efficient laboratory environment, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Operational management and budgeting experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Formulates and implements short and long-range goals for laboratory operations.
• Implements lab policies and coordinates with research staff on service issues.
• Acts as liaison between investigators, research personnel, and staff to solve operating problems.
• Advises on procedures, techniques and equipment; ensures compliance with standards.
• Maintains quality checks on lab safety and facilities per good lab practices.
• Installs and maintains equipment in compliance with federal regulations.
• Ensures technicians are properly trained in SOPs and equipment requirements.
• Assists in determining fiscal requirements and preparing budget recommendations.
• Prepares reports highlighting progress, trends and recommendations.
• Ensures internal controls and adherence to University policies; trains staff accordingly.
