Job summary

The University of Miami's UHealth Laboratories Department is seeking a Manager, Medical Technologists to lead clinical laboratory procedures, quality assurance, and instrument maintenance in service of integrated patient care.

The role oversees staff performance, coordinates with reference laboratories and vendors, and develops monthly and quarterly reports while driving continuous improvement and compliance with university policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.
• FLDOH - Clinical Laboratory Supervisor certification/licensing.

Responsibilities

• Manages teams of medical technologists responsible for tests and procedures.
• Monitors equipment performance and initiates service when needed.
• Plans and directs work activities for smooth operations.
• Investigates problems related to patient testing and procedures.
• Assists in interviewing and selecting new staff and performance reviews.
• Participates in design and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation.
• Monitors quality control, proficiency testing, and corrective actions.
• Coordinates continuing education activities for staff.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines and university policies.
• Develops and evaluates training and competency tools.
